The best thing about Facebook Live is that it allows you to broadcast in real time instead of just creating videos for replay later, you can now connect from your mobile device and send it straight to your Facebook News Feed live.

Here’s a quick overview on how to do it in 10 easy steps:

  1. .   Open Facebook on your mobile device
  2. .   Open your status bar as if writing a post
  3. .   Tap on the Live icon (the person with a circle around it)
  4. .   Allow Facebook to have access to your camera and microphone
  5. .   Press ‘Continue’
  6. .   Set the viewing settings (start with ‘Only Me’ until you get the hang of it)
  7. .   Describe your video
  8. .   Select your camera angle
  9. .   Press ‘Go Live’
  10. .   Press ‘Finish’ and ‘Save to Camera Roll’ when you’re done

That’s all it takes. You now have a permanent record of the event that stays on your Facebook page just like any other video saved to your timeline.

As a business owner, you’re probably always looking for new ways to connect with your customers. Facebook Live can do that. Here are six ways you can use Facebook Live video to boost your business.

Stream a Live Event

Whether you’re at a business conference or putting on your own open house, streaming a live event can involve those who otherwise might not be able to attend. Making viewers feel as if they are part of an event helps you deepen your connection and build that relationship.

Conduct an Interview

What do a visiting dignitary, a marketing visionary, and a business icon all have in common? They make great interview subjects. Maybe a popular celebrity can’t get enough of your dark chocolate raspberry cupcakes. Ask for an interview. Interviews allow viewers to see who uses your products — people who are like them. You might even consider conducting person-on-the-street interviews.

Provide a Demonstration

If you’ve ever viewed any of Lowe’s six-second Vine videos, you know the importance of sharing “how-to” tips. Help customers understand the benefits and use of your products by offering a demonstration. Depending on your product, you might even have viewers show how they use them and grow a new market segment.

Offer a Tour

Resorts and real estate agents are the masters of the virtual tour. Visit some of the websites of larger hotel chains, and you can view their rooms and property. Consider using the same trick for your business. Whether you show how and where you make your products or introduce viewers to your administrative offices live stream where you work.

Generate New Ideas

One of the best ways to generate new ideas and improvements to current product lines is by asking customers for feedback. Host a question and answer session specifically to gain insight into what your customer base feels is good and bad about your products and brand. It can help you revamp current or create new products.

Build Better Relationships

The primary purpose behind social media is relationship building. Build authentic relationships with your customers and followers by allowing them to share their stories. If one of your products has transformed their life, let others know about it.

A July 2016 Business Insider post says that typical Facebook users see Facebook Live as an important entertainment tool and nearly half of them have turned into a video while it was streaming live. Keep that in mind when you’re deciding how you can use Facebook Live Video to boost your business.
